CIVILIAN was approached by a creative couple to design an interior renovation of a mountainside log cabin originally constructed in the 1980's in upstate New York. At the entrance, we defined a vestibule area, while at the center of the 1,000-sf project, a thickened wall integrates previously free-floating kitchen appliances, hearth, and entertainment system. Conceived as a weekend retreat, the project aims to be urbane while referencing the region's low-key alpine terroir.
