Set within a former Naval facility in New Orleans, Civilian is leading the design for a ground-up, 30,000 square-foot innovation hub dedicated to building, testing and precommissioning decarbonization technologies for the energy sector. Drawing on New Orleans’ maritime heritage and its evolving role in the global energy transition, the design balances robust industrial functionality with a refined material palette. Light-filled collaborative spaces, state-of-the-art labs, and flexible workshops encourage experimentation and cross-disciplinary dialogue.
