Other Spaces is a concept for a branded network of combined boutique hostels and student accommodations. CIVILIAN designed a residential building in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood that would connect visiting students to engaging and authentic experiences of New York City. Other Spaces Brooklyn is an 11-story residential building that goes beyond the traditional model of student housing. By treating shared spaces as a valuable and fundamental ingredient in the student experience, CIVILIAN demonstrates how student residences can not only meet functional living requirements, but can also build a vibrant global community of students.
